Jane’s Warlord by Angela Knight

Nothing says ‘I love you’ like being bait for a sociopath.

Jack the Ripper is a time traveling killer and he’s just targeted Jane Colby as his next victim.  Thankfully Jane has a protector, Baran Arvid.

Baran is a genetically engineered Warlord from 300 years in the future.  He and his wolf companion, Freika, have been sent back to keep Jane from being killed and to catch her killer.  It’s a mission like any other.  Except that Baran can’t seem to follow the orders he was given.  He was ordered to keep her safe from a distance!  And to NOT show himself for any reason!

He’s usually so good at following orders.

But not only does he show himself to her, he also tells her where and when he’s from, who’s after her, and as the piece de resistance he informs her that after the Ripper gets through with her, the only thing left is blood.  Baran should know.  He’s read the history books trying to find a way around it.  And you can’t change history… can you?

Join the adventure of the month and see how it all ends!

Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Nick Gautier (pronounced Go-Shay) is your everyday, typical fourteen year-old. He loves to eat, hates high school, his dad is in prison for multiple murders, and his friends fight zombies and vampires on a regular basis…Okay, so Nick doesn’t actually believe the zombie part or anything else woo-woo like that, but his friends Bubba and Mark are certified zombie hunters…or just certified (they have guns and know how to use ‘em, so it’s best to just agree with everything they say.)

Needless to say, Nick’s life is pretty normal with a few twists. Then he gets shot. And life goes down-hill from there. Now he’s running from zombies who used to be his class mates, weird creatures are popping up and trying to kill him, apparently he has an uncle, and he can’t find a chainsaw when he needs it. Although, the rocket launcher has potential…

Oh, and did I mention that Nick now has super powers, a pocket knife that can change size, a journal that talks back, and he used to play football with a bunch of shape-shifters? Yeah. It’s one of those weeks.

The best Young Adult book you’ll ever read!! Infinity will have you on the edge of your seat and begging for more. Fans of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series will NOT want to miss this book. It explains one of the most important questions about Nick. What is up with those shirts he’s always wearing? And don’t forget! The second book, Invincible, comes out February 1, 2011!!

1-800-Where-R-You by Meg Cabot

Doing the right thing isn’t always easy. But it is a choice that every one has to make some day. That day has come for Jessica Mastriani. One day while walking home from detention, Jess was struck by lightning. But instead of dying, Jess ends up with a super power! Well. Kind of. It isn’t exactly super, but it is a power.

When Jess goes to sleep, she dreams of the locations of two children who’d been missing for years. She knows they’re missing because their pictures were on the back of the milk carton from last night. The 1-800-WHERE-R-U phone number on the back of the carton just begs Jess to call and tell someone about the kids. So while at school the next day she calls and tells the lady on the other end where they could find them.

Simple right? The kids are found and no one knows she’s the one who called. Except of course the FBI… and the United States military… and the media… Now everybody wants her help. People are sitting outside her home, the news vans are following her, even when she goes to the military base she isn’t given a moment of peace. What is she supposed to do!? Jess can’t stand all of the attention and the pressure her new powers have come with. She just wishes they would all go away: the media, the people, the FBI, she even wishes her powers would disappear! Her life would be so much better. Or would it?

Follow Jess as she first starts out finding missing people and murderers in her own home town, to fighting in Afghanistan and eventually finding her way back home.
