It’s back!!!!

Toys for Toys is back in Memphis!!!!!!!

LOOK AT ALL THE BOXES OF TOYS!!

This years Marine Toys for Tots donation haul was fabulous!! I got 6 boxes full and still had some bigger box toys left over!

I don’t usually get the bigger toys because even on sale they tend to be expensive.

Even better this year!!

A coworker gave me 6 Lego sets and some My Little Pony toys to donate too!!

This was a fantastic year and I’m excited for next year because my Rewards from B&N are stacking up already! I’m hoping to have at least $100 in Rewards for next Christmas!

Have a great week everyone!!

True to form!

Atlantis again!

I know last week was kind of a weird one. I was tired but still wanted to update on what’s going on.

This time will be short again but definitely Atlantis.

Pride of the Genii is what the Genii renamed the Alteran ship and we all know that technology kind of has a mind of its own.

Not AI, but something like a presence. (Wraith Hiveships also have this and I’ll have to look deeper on the next read to see if there’s an answer)

We know Sheppard and Lorne felt it, and gave the ship its due respect. I’m curious (again will have to be more careful when I read these parts) if it was always reluctant to work for them?

In the sense that it’s currently sluggish and not responding as quickly to the Genii, however that could be because the gene is deteriorating in their bodies so it doesn’t recognize them anymore.

It could also be because the Genii don’t exactly treat it the same way Lorne and Sheppard did.

I’m excited!

Almost done with my backlog and then onto rereading some of my all time favorite series and authors!!

Not necessarily Atlantis but kinda?

Y’all know how it’s taking me so long with this last book? It’s because I’ve been reading more of my backlog of books this year instead and trying to get them done.

My backlog has been taking up the larger of my two 3-shelf bookshelves for a while and I’d like it back for my Stargate books. Mostly because I’m out of space on the smaller one, but only have a few of the SG-1 titles so far.

Good news is I only have 17 books left (not counting my currently reading book) and then I should be able to get rid of the smaller bookshelf. It’s taking up a good bit of my closet and I’d like that back so I can get a more comfy reading chair, but not have to worry about bashing my skull in when I stand up.

I may end up getting a corner bookshelf from IKEA for my Stargate books and paraphernalia if my 3-shelf bookshelf isn’t big enough… cause I also don’t have all the audiobooks yet.

I’m seriously thinking of a reread (again) when I’m done with my backlog.

Anyways!

Did I tell y’all I’m rewatching SG-1 with my mother? I cannot wait until we get to Atlantis! So far she’s liking it!

See ya later!

Yay Atlantis!

I’ve gotten to the part in ‘Pride of the Genii’ where they realize they’ve been infected by something that’s deactivating the ATA gene.

I think it was a natural thing they picked up on Teos but I’ll find out soon.

What’s interesting is that I feel like the Genii would have studied whatever it is and then messed with it to try and use it as a weapon. Definitely against Atlantis, but I think they’d use it against everyone else too so they wouldn’t have any competition anymore.

After all, if no one else can use Alteran technology then they’ve already won right?

It would have been cool to see if that’s where they’d have taken this incident.

Unfortunately this is the last book written in the Legacy series so we’ll never know.

Happy reading and have a happy Thanksgiving this week!!

Christmas!

I know I’m not the only person to be excited about Christmas!

I love buying my family stuff and I love supporting the Marine Corps Toys for Tots and there’s this box at my local library that’s a ‘socks for seniors’ thing that I’ve never had a chance to donate to, but will this year!

Christmas is really just an excuse to give people things without there being a feeling of obligation (real or not) hanging around.

Still a month away and I’m so excited! I’m also almost done shopping (for my family that is!) and definitely looking forward to Black Friday because there should be sales at work which means my money can go further!

On an unrelated note (before I let y’all go), anyone know of a good book or tutorial that shows how to make books and book covers without using AI?

I’m having trouble.

Ciao!

Atlantis!

I haven’t liked the Genii since the very first episode they showed up in and they’ve never given me a reason to doubt my judgment ya know?

It’s interesting though that the division amongst the Genii isn’t just between military groups, but also between scientists and military mindset.

The military doesn’t see any use in the science divisions and the only reason they’ve gotten any credit lately is because Ladin’s sister is head of a department.

So we can give Ladin kudos for that but not much else.

Sheppard hears a little bit about the tension between the groups during the Remembrance Day celebration when a higher ranked scientist makes a comment before quickly backtracking. Obviously fearing for his life should anyone overhear his words.

It’s strange when you consider that it’s the scientists who would have figured out the nukes they created in the first place and they’d be the ones to figure out the Alteran ship too.

It would be interesting to find out when the division happened and why because the Genii military wouldn’t have gotten as far as they have in regards to defeating Wraith if it weren’t for the scientist…

One of those things we’ll never find out (unless it’s hiding in one of the books and I just haven’t realized yet).

Until next week!
