So it begins… (again)

We have passed episode 5 of Stargate SG-1!

My mama is not a fan of Hammond or Carter. I can’t help be excited for the moments that make her like them!

Cause we all know it’ll happen.

Stargate has always done an excellent job with character development so I don’t foresee my mother NOT ending up loving Hammond and Carter.

The thought of her first introduction to McKay is also filling me with an amount of glee that’s not normal y’all!

In addition to Stargate being back on the menu! (Couldn’t help myself) I am also working towards something pretty dang exciting and a little terrifying at the same time.

I’ll keep you posted on both and hopefully I can make good on that promise about the crafty things soon…

Have a fantastic week everyone!!

A cold has brought me low..

Saturday morning I woke up with a cold punching me in the face. I took the appropriate meds and went to work.

Yesterday morning I woke up at 9:20ish, got French toast sticks and orange juice from Wendy’s for breakfast, ate and then promptly fell asleep again from about 11am to 5:30ish pm.

To say this cold is kicking my butt is an understatement.

I’ll see y’all next week.

Send prayers for a quick recovery if you’d please! (And thank you!)

Stargate!!

Couple nights ago my mama and I watched (for the millionth time) the original Stargate movie.

The one that started it all!

I never remember how dang good it is until I’m watching. It’s fun to see how dated the movie is and to compare the movie actors and characters with the tv series actors and characters.

When I’m talking about dated, I specifically mean the scenes where people are just smoking wherever.

That would not fly even ten years ago! But when the movie was made that was a thing. So a scene where almost everyone is smoking in a small room being briefed on the Stargate cartouche’s by Daniel Jackson?

Priceless!

Character differences are fun though not as expansive because the movie only had a little time to create these fully fleshed characters, whereas the series had season after season to give the characters time to develop in a more natural and realistic way.

I could go on but it’s late and I need sleep.

However! My mama has never watched past the first couple episodes of the series and so now she’s going to with me!!

YAS!!!!

Next time peeps!

Stargate!

Okay, it’s not Atlantis but it is Stargate!

I was watching clips of the SG-1 episode where Carter and O’Neill go through the second Earth gate and are trapped.

What’s entirely funny about that whole situation (outside of the fat that’s the famous McGuyver ad lib by Amanda Tapping) is that Daniel asks Teal’c ‘what happens when you dial your own number?’ then immediately realizes his mistake and asks General Hammond.

Everyone should know the answer if only from TV or books, but you get a busy signal is the answer.

I love that the series is dated because it always felt so close to reality you know? As if any second you could see a Deathglider flying overhead being chased by Air Force pilots.

Of course, if you’d seen that and reported it anywhere you’d be considered a conspiracy nut. Even if you had video evidence from your cell phone, technology is at a place that AI could easily replicate the scenario and the governments would discredit you pretty much immediately…

If other people online didn’t beat them to it.

Interesting times y’all.

Until we meet again! (Next Monday of course!!)

Y’all won’t believe this…

😑

Power went out again. This time I was at work when it happened which you’d think wouldn’t be that big of a deal.

Except-

Power flickered and set the fire alarm off.

Guess who was an hour late leaving work because the poor firemen had to talk to security to figure out what was setting the alarm off?

Of course, then I drove the back way home in the hopes I’d find some place open for supper and I did (KFC), but it took an hour and a half from the time I got in line to the when I got my food.

I don’t blame the workers because they were absolutely wonderful! (Their power had gone off too and they were having problems).

After all that I’m sure y’all can understand why this is the best I’ve got today.

I’ll try to get something set up ahead of time just in case…

Rewatch has begun!

Nothing is quite so good as having Atlantis playing in the background while you do crafty things!

Especially after a long day with no power.

Next weeks post will, hopefully, be longer and full of a really cool crafty attempt and more Atlantis (finally!)

See everyone then!

General update post!

I am so close to getting to do more of those incredibly cute tiny resin food mystery balls! (That’s a lot of words for something so small!).

I have the outlining of my latest cross-stitch to do then one more big one (possibly two small ones but I’m not sure they count?), and of course the figure painting still.

I have two days off in a row and I’m planning on doing some of the painting at least, but hopefully all of it. The cross-stitch outlining I should be able to get done in the morning if not when I get home from work.

Doing a buy online and pick up in store was an option initially (for the tiny resin things), but the more I’ve thought about it the more fun it sounds to take a day and go to the Walmart’s in my area and just buy all of them!

Somewhat kidding since it’s not cheap, however, I did just pay off my biggest credit card debt so I feel like I deserve a little more of a reward than a small Bundt cake (no matter how delicious it was!!).

It took me two and a half years to get it paid off so I think I can reward myself by filling a box full of the resin food things.

I’d get myself books except that I have 3 shelves still to get through and I am determined to keep myself on the straight and narrow, as it were.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully intend to buy books when I start getting 50% off, but it’ll be the books I’ve already read in hardback and just need the paperbacks now to complete series’.

I’ll show y’all my room next week cause it’s pretty impressive if I do say so myself!

See ya later everyone!

Atlantis!!

Very short because I am on vacation and enjoying the heck out of it!

Anyways, I was rewatching episode 1 part 2 and I didn’t mean to pause at a particular moment but it made me think.

When the Wraith drone pins Shepherd to the table the Wraith Queen is off to the side watching. However! What I never noticed before was the Wraith a step behind her.

I should say, I noticed him but never with the knowledge that comes with reading the Legacy series.

I bring this up because I wonder what his position is on the Hive. Is he the Queen’s Consort or just a Blade? If he is a Blade he’s most likely their leader (I can’t remember the exact term so I’ll have to reread that particular short story…oh darn. 😁).

I say this with the full understanding that the writers may not have thought that far ahead so what’s really happening here is me having a great time on vacation rewatching Atlantis!

I’ll see y’all next week, have a fantastic week!!
